Edward Burlingame Hill Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano

Hill taught orchestration and a variety of other music classes at Harvard University. His pupils include Leonard Bernstein, Elliott Carter, and Irving Fine. After his retirement in 1940 Hill left Cambridge for his summer home in New Hampshire and continued to compose. The Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano dates from 1952 and was dedicated to Hill’s friend, the clarinetist and fellow composer Burnet C. Tuthill.
